Collection: The Illustrated Laws of Life

Laws of life, written as formulas.

Some truths are easier to see when you write them down like an equation. The Illustrated Laws of Life is my visual philosophy project. Each design takes a feeling, a habit or one of life's big questions and turns it into a playful formula, with doodles, color blocks and expressive fonts.

The formulas are for thinkers, dreamers and anyone who looks for meaning in everyday things. Hang one on the wall, wear one, or carry one in your bag. Pick the reminder you need most.

Formula No. 9: The Muse Awakening
Creativity = (Imagination + Knowledge) ÷ Fear²

This is the first formula in the series. So why 9 and not 1? The numbers aren't a count. Each one has a meaning of its own. Here, 9 is for the nine muses of Greek myth, the goddesses who inspired art, music and poetry.

Imagination gives you the idea. Knowledge helps you make it real. Fear sits underneath, and it's squared. That means every bit of fear you let go of makes a big difference: cut your fear in half, and the result grows four times bigger.

As Marilyn Ferguson put it: “Ultimately we know deeply that the other side of every fear is freedom.”

And here's the part I love most: you can't divide by zero. Zero fear would break the math. Maybe that's the point, because nobody is completely free of fear. Fear is human. So the work goes both ways: keep growing the top, your imagination and what you know, and keep making the fear below a little smaller.

Think of this formula as a wake-up call for your own muses. Read the full story behind Formula No. 9.
